1500 (medium grade 430) Stainless Steel Combination Braai | Excluding flue kit.
1500mm Built-in Stainless Steel combination braai – A combination of wood-burning and 2-burner gas BBQ griller.
Enjoy the best of both worlds – a traditional wood-burning South African braai and a quick and easy to use gas griller.
Braai body, doors and inner parts are made of medium grade (430) stainless steel, the gas griller is made of high grade (304) stainless steel.
Stainless Steel braais are easier to maintain compared to the black painted mild steel braais.
The 430 stainless steel braai is sold without a flue kit!
Only the mild steel range as well as the high grade (304) stainless steel range include 2.4m flue kits as a standard feature.
Flues pipes and cowl are sold separately as optional extras.
You may choose between galvanized, 430 grade stainless steel & 304 stainless steel flue pipes and cowl depending on your installation and budget.
WARNING:
430 grade stainless steel is not resilient to rust. The braai should be installed indoors or outdoors, under covered patio.
It is also not suitable for coastal areas unless installed indoors.
Gas connection
You will require a minimum 9kg bottle of LPG to operate the griller, although, we recommend a larger bottle.
Use 5/16th copper pipe to permanently connect the gas griller to the gas line.
We recommend you use a qualified gas installer for proper and safe installation.
Double door design
Double door design – top door tilts up, bottom door drops 90° to form a workbench.
Moreover, the bottom rests on specially designed strong L-brackets, doing away with the traditional double chain.
Construction
We use 2.0mm 430 medium grade stainless steel for the body and moving parts, 1.5mm for the braai doors.
The gas griller on the other hand is 304 high grade stainless steel.
Another unique feature of Lava’s braais is a recessed 220V downlight/spotlight for bright illumination.
The 1500 Combination braai gets dual 220V spotlights – Above the wood braai and second above the gas BBQ.
Cowl
As mentioned above this braai does not come standard with a cowl piece.
A cowl is the end piece of your flue kit, used to prevent downward draught and rain down the flue pipe.
Choose between a round, fixed (non-rotating) cyclone cowl or a square, fixed Turbo cowl that performs better under windy conditions.
