1500 De Lux built-in Braai | Mild Steel | 2.4m flue kit
The 1500mm built-in De Lux braai is the second largest braai within Lava’s De Lux range.
Made from mild steel and is suitable for indoor and outdoor (under cover) applications.
The De Lux is a classic double-door braai design – the top door tilts up and rests against the braai frame. The bottom door drops down to form a workbench.
Both doors can be removed by unscrewing the screws at the hinges.
Material
Braai’s body and moving parts are made of 2.5mm hot roll while the doors are 1.6mm hot roll.
Braai Grid
Every braai is fitted with a single V-shape stainless steel grid, grade 430.
This is a superior alternative to the commonly sold galvanized grids.
In addition, you may also purchase, as an optional extra, two shorter grids.
Both the 1200 and 1500 De Lux braais are capable of taking two shorter grids in place of a single grid.
How does it work?
Simply remove the single grid, shift the ember maker (left) to the center of the braai,
place the two shorter grids on either side of the ember maker.
Lighting
Good lighting always comes in handy when braaing at night time or under low lighting conditions.
Your braai is fitted with a 220V downlight/spotlight to provide good lighting.
It consists of a chrome die-cast Aluminum downlight, 220V/GU10 ceramic lamp holder &
a halogen glass bulb that can withstand heat. The light is positioned on the left hand side of the braai.
Cowl
We include a round cyclone cowl (fixed, non-rotating) made of galvanized steel.
Lava’s cyclone cowl replaces the traditional bird-shaped rotating cowl.
Cyclone cowls are more efficient than rotating cowls and easier to maintain – in other words, they do not require lubrication.
Rust and Corrosion
This mild steel braai is designed for indoor use OR outdoor use provided it is undercover and does not come in direct contact with water (rain, garden sprinklers, etc).
It is not suitable for outdoor coastal areas even if installed undercover unless the patio is completely enclosed to avoid the corrosive sea salt in the air.
It is advisable to paint the braai regularly.
